The TD 235 is the manual counterpart of Thorens' well-regarded TD 240-2 turntable. The TD 235 features an opto-electronical shut-off and an extremely silent running precision belt drive beneath the platter. The TD 235 embraces the aesthetics of the glory days of analog audio. The substantial 14.7 lb. chassis of the TD 240-2 with 1.5 lb. nonmagnetic aluminum 12-inch platter provide a stable platform for musical reproduction. The high acoustical damping properties of the chassis suppress mechanical vibration and resonance, keeping them out of the signal chain for exceptional audio purity. The TD 235 features an advanced drive system with internal flat-drive belt and electronically controlled DC motor. The suspended chassis contributes to the extraordinary smoothness of the drive system along with the audiophile quality sound. The electronic speed selector gives you playback speeds of 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm. Mechanical cuing gives you the extra needed measure of control.
